2025-02-09" # Conclusion of the 13th Free Medical Camp for Cataract Removal and Lens Implantation in Az-Zahra District **Hodeidah, Az-Zahra, Al-Ma'ras, 8/2/205** In an atmosphere full of hope and joy, Grameen Yemen Foundation concluded yesterday, Friday, the activities of the 13th Free Medical Camp dedicated to cataract removal and lens implantation. This event was held at the Grameen Yemen Medical Center in Az-Zahra District, where the camp received many individuals suffering from visual impairment from various districts of Al-Hodeidah Governorate and neighboring governorates over the course of a whole week. This humanitarian event represented a real turning point in the lives of many who lived in the darkness of visual loss. A team of the most prominent ophthalmology consultants and surgeons in Yemen cooperated in this camp, led by Professor Yahya Al-Ghasali, Head of the Ophthalmology Department at Sana'a University and Head of the Examination Committee in the Scientific Council for Ophthalmology Specialization in Jordan. Professor Tawfiq Al-Khatib, Dr. Rafiq Al-Absi, and others with extensive experience in this field also participated in it. The camp concluded amidst an atmosphere of joy and happiness, as patients who regained their sight expressed feelings of reassurance after their operations. This initiative comes within the framework of efforts to address one of the most important aspects of poverty, which is the health dimension, as vision loss does not only affect individuals but also extends to their families and the entire community. During this camp, 318 patients underwent cataract removal and lens implantation surgeries, and medical examinations were conducted for about 1,500 people. In addition, operations were planned for 11 children in the best medical centers in the capital, Sana’a, where Grameen Yemen Foundation will bear all costs related to operations, transportation, housing and food. The success of this camp was a powerful message that reflects the meanings of humanity and solidarity, as Grameen Yemen Foundation has proven its ability to make a real difference in people’s lives. Restoring hope in the eyes is not just a medical procedure, but a step towards a brighter and more prosperous life."
