The poor in rural areas live under extremely difficult conditions that have begun to threaten the future of children’s education. Many families are unable to enroll their children in school, forcing them into the labor market due to harsh living circumstances and the need to support their families in securing basic necessities such as food and water. This situation risks producing generations deprived of even the minimum level of education—thereby perpetuating the cycle of poverty.
In an effort to encourage school enrollment and prevent children from dropping out, Grameen Yemen Foundation has provided school supplies and textbooks for primary school students who are children of the Foundation’s members. This initiative aims to combat school dropout and support children’s continuous access to education.
